Project Director, Innovations in Family Recruitment

As director of the Innovations in Family Recruitment project, Ellen Unruh provides a wide range of experience and skills in project management, research and evaluation, grant administration, and policy development.

Before joining WRI, Ms. Unruh worked as a research scientist at the Center for Human Services Research at SUNY Albany, conducting program evaluations for state agencies. In this role, she implemented multi-stage, mixed method evaluations of innovative service models, designed data collection tools and survey instruments, and developed reports to stakeholders. She previously served as a program evaluator for Rice County Public Health in Minnesota and the Health Research Centre in Canberra, Australia.

Ms. Unruh holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin/Madison and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Kansas/Lawrence.
