Developing educational and training resources

  • An online training manual to accompany the web-based version of The Adoption Album – Our Children, Our Families. The system improves the current photo-listing process and enhances the prospective adoptive parent registry system.
  • A training curriculum for caseworkers in foster care, covering early engagement of families when a child is placed in foster care and the use of Service Plan Reviews and Family Group Conferences to achieve permanency.
  • Documents used to training child care workers in New York State on techniques to involve domestic violence offenders in family planning.
  • A program guide to accompany the training DVD, “The Indian Child Welfare Act: What Caseworkers Need to Know.” The DVD and guide are used to train supervisors so they can assist caseworkers in identifying Native American children and in complying with the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA).
