WHAT'S NEW?
May 5-11 is National Children's Mental Health Awareness Week; a good opportunity for those of us who care about this issue to make ourselves heard. A report released this week by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) revealed that nearly 20% of young adults (age 18-25) living in the U.S. had a mental health condition in the past year – more than 1.3 million had a disorder so serious that their ability to function was compromised. How can these young people get the help they need? Let us know what you think.
