Supporting foster families in building better futures for children and youth

The power of community

Fostering Futures NY is administered by Welfare Research, Inc. (WRI), a nonprofit agency and an experienced provider of technical assistance to human services agencies.

Since its start as a pilot project in July 2014, FFNY has developed key relationships with local Departments of Social Services, foster care agencies, and faith communities. FFNY teams are serving in Albany, Schenectady, and Rensselaer counties. Several FFNY teams have been matched with local foster families and are providing needed services and support.

FFNY has been supported by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services through its "Innovations in Foster Parent Recruitment" program, funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Children's Bureau. After the pilot project ends, FFNY will seek support from private sources to sustain and expand this innovative program.
